Eva Aish

March 8th, 1945 - May 8th, 2018

Eva Aish passed away peacefully on May 8, 2018 at Breton Long Term Care, Breton, AB. Born in Swift Current, SK on March 8,1945 to John & Elizabeth Funk, Eva grew up on a farm near McMahon, SK with her loving parents and nine brothers and sisters. She loved playing outside and going to town with her Dad for farm supplies, and she learned from her Mom to make the German foods that she continued to cook throughout her life. In 1960, her parents moved the family to Abbotsford, BC, where Eva met and married her high school sweetheart, Ron Aish. They had two children, Kerry & Rhonda. Eva always created a cozy home for her family and she was known for her baking, especially her bread, cinnamon rolls, pies, and tomato soup cake. She was a talented artist who loved to sketch and paint. Ron and Eva enjoyed camping trips and holidays throughout BC, the Yukon, & Northwest Territories, and took many long drives through the countryside enjoying the scenery together. Eva was a wonderful Mom & Nana and will always be remembered for her gentle cuddles and bedtime prayers with the kids. She drew great comfort from her faith which sustained her through her later years as she lived with Parkinson’s. Eva is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ron Aish, her beloved children Kerry & his wife Beverley, Rhonda & her husband Marv Wiebe, her grandchildren Tara (Shawn), Cedina (Frank), Michael (Breanne), Jake (Jessica), Brent (Samantha) & Julie, her great grandchildren Cameron, Aislyn, Karsen, Logan, Erica, Jude, Alaina, & Zoey, her brothers John (Betty), Otto (Phyllis), Pete (Bev), Jim (Jane), Steve, her sisters Judy (Bob), Margaret (Ken), Pauline (Larry), & many special nieces, nephews, & friends. Eva was predeceased by her parents John & Elizabeth Funk, her parents-in-law Percy & Helena Aish, & her sister Trudi (Gerry) Schalm.

No formal services will be held.

The family would like to thank the staff at Breton Long Term Care for the excellent care Eva received, and we will be forever grateful for the devotion and care that Dad showed Mom during her final years.

If so desired memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Alberta, #102, 5636 Burbank Crescent S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 1Z6

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me...I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.
