Louise Ann Torvinen (nee: Bailey)

October 7th, 1943- October 29th, 2017

 " A Mother's hug lasts long after she lets go"

 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother,

Louise Ann Torvinen (Nee  Bailey ) on October 29, 2017.

Our mom had the Heart of a Lion and fought until the bitter end even

overcoming Lung Cancer along the way. Her kind and gentle spirit will be

missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.  Louise will be

remembered by her children as a loving, caring mother and the most

important person in their lives.  

Louise is survived by her children: 2 Daughters: Charmaine Grant of Calgary

AB, and Kimberly (Chris) Mierau of Winter Springs Florida, USA, and Son

Greg Torvinen of Drayton Valley, AB.

5 Grandchildren, Terho and Tori Ronak as well as Kellan, McKenna and Keaton


Sisters: Marie (Norman) Hoglund of Didsbury AB, and Helen ( Bill ) Bromley

of Sechelt, BC, Elaine (Peter) Vowk of Drayton Valley AB,

Sister in Laws: Ivie (James) Selin of Drayton Valley, AB, Doreen Breitkreuz of

Wetaskiwin, AB, Brother in Law: Wymand (Irene) Lambe of Peachland, BC as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Louise was predeceased by her husband: Stanley Torvinen,

her parents, Albert and Rosemary Bailey (Nee, Fink)

sister in Law: Elsie Lambe

brother in laws, Peter Vowk, James Selin, Walter Breitkreuz

Louise had a life-long love affair with her family and has left a legacy of

laughter, love and cherished memories - she took pleasure in the simple

things and didn't sweat the small stuff- through her example we can all

learn to breathe.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date to celebrate this

remarkable lady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The Lung Association Alberta/NWT Division Box 4700 STN South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 9Z9.
