On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Shirley Alice Wotton of Drayton Valley formerly of Taber, Alberta passed away at the age of 84 years.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; Linda Innis and Doreen (Dale) Pridmore, three grandchildren; Sara (Dustin) Nordin, Michael and Tanner Innis, two sisters; Phyllis (Don) Strong and Ruby (Arnold) Louma, four brothers; Stan (Colleen), Cecil (Lynn), Keith and Gordon (Marilyn) Knuttlia, two sisters in law; June and Barb Knuttlia, one brother in law; Calvin Larway as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Albert Wotton, parents Elmer and Impi Knuttlia, brothers; Larry and Leslie, sister Jean Larway and sister in law Irene Knuttlia.

Shirley was married Albert Wotton for 48 years. Albert’s work took them throughout southern Saskatchewan and into Alberta. In the early years Shirley was active in the Anglican Ladies Guild and later in the Lutheran Church. She worked with a janitorial firm for a few years in Drayton Valley. She enjoyed needlework, knitting and crochet. Her real talent was evident in her ceramics. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed preserving the harvest. She loved cooking, playing cards, fishing, putting together puzzles and watching curling. Her family and extended family were very important to her and she enjoyed staying in contact. Shirley’s greatest love were her daughters and grandchildren, she was always there for them, always putting them first. Shirley was a wonderful mother, and a caring wife who was loved dearly and will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Drayton Valley on Friday,

October 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Kenton Penner officiating. Interment of urn will take place at a later date at the Maple Creek Cemetery in Saskatchewan.
