James Wright Judson
April 15, 1944 – April 27, 2020
Jim was born the 15 of April 1944. He began a policing career as a young man, rose to chief of police in Coaldale. Jim was president of Alberta town police association for 2 years. He met his wife of 53 years while investigating a car accident Marian was involved in when they lived in Rocky Mountain House.
Jim changed careers at 26 years of age to work in Alberta oil field. Following a four-year contract in Singapore began his own drilling fluids supply company. Jim’s successful supply company allowed many wonderful years living in Singapore enjoying the tropical climate and many Asian adventures. Jim sold his business and returned to Calgary in 1985. The slump in the Canadian oil patch forced early retirement to the golf course at Birchwood.
Jim spent 17 years at Weyerhaeuser supporting his and Marians golf habit. Here Jim and Marian built a wonderful life of family friends and golf. The MD of Brazeau was very appreciative of his 8 years contribution to his efforts at their recycle sight. Jim was an avid barbequer and is famous for his gumbo.
Jim could play any instrument and his favourite song to sing was “pop atop again” or “I’ll leave this world loving you”. He was passionate about winning the lottery but never did. Jim passed away April 27, 12 days after his 76th birthday 2020.
He will be remembered by his loving wife, Marian and family. We would like to send out a big thank you to Dan and Jodie Bauman for all the support they have generously provided during this sad time.
